Chapter Study Group
Meet in a friendly round-table atmosphere to discuss current events, economics, clients, asset allocation, and other financial planning topics. We also share practice management ideas, marketing, and other topics pertaining to our businesses. You are welcome to add topics to the agenda and/or bring new topics to the meetings.

Partners Committee Meeting
Join the Partners Committee to help our chapter’s corporate partners get the most out of their experience. All are welcome! First-time attendees confirm date and place with Doug Frazier at Partners@fpaoc.org.
Southwest Regional Conference
Kicking off in 2019, this new event promises to be a meeting of the minds in a most beautiful setting – the UCLA Conference Center January 25-27 in Lake Arrowhead, CA. By financial planners for financial planners, with great discussion and no distractions. Space is limited!
The cost will be $550 per person. This includes 2 nights room and all food. The rooming arrangement is Double Occupancy in two-bedroom “condolets” – each person has a separate bedroom/bathroom and the amenities of an upscale hotel.

FPA Online Media Training
FPA is hosting all-member virtual media training. These special quarterly trainings are open to all members and will enable you to effectively approach media relations within your own business. FPA members who are CFP® professionals and attend this media training program will be able to participate in FPA media queries. Each 90-minute media training program, conducted by FPA Director of Communications Ben Lewis, covers the essentials in working with journalists, including:
• How to pitch story ideas to reporters
• What you need to do to prepare for interviews
• How you can improve interview performance
• The tactics for ensuring you maintain a great reputation with reporters
• Representing FPA and the organizational messages
You will receive a confirmation email and login details one week before the training.

Quarterly Education Meeting
Join us for our next Quarterly Education meeting on November 14, 2018, at the UCI Student Center. Plus, mark your calendars now for our 2019 meetings: February 27, May 15, August 28, and November 20.
Cost: FPA Members $30 | Non-Members $160 | First-Time Visitors are Free
Lunch and Parking are included.
We anticipate offering 4.0 hours of CE for CFP® Professionals (pending), 5.0 hours of CPA CPE, and 1.0 hours CA Insurance (pending).

FPA of California Annual Advocacy Day
Are you an FPA member interested in meeting with legislators in Sacramento to discuss issues affecting the financial planning profession? We will be traveling to Sacramento on Monday, March 4th to gather with other FPA members from throughout the state. On Tuesday, March 5th, we converge on the State Capitol to meet with our State Senators and Assemblymembers. We return at end-of-day on Tuesday. The trip is fun and informative.
